ABOUT US

Berkshire Cider Project was founded by wife and husband team, Kat Hand and Matt Brogan. Our cidermaking is inspired by the art, agriculture and community that makes our region so special.

We opened July 2020 located at the beautiful Greylock WORKS facility on State Road – a former textile mill turned event venue, co-working space and food incubator.

Kat manages our business while maintaining a consulting role in corporate sustainability. Matt is our head cidermaker after a career as an architectural consultant for performing arts centers and theatres.

OUR PARTNERS

HILLTOP ORCHARD

The 200 acre historic property has been an apple orchard for more than 100 years and grows over 26 varieties, including some heirlooms that date back to the start of the orchard. They also produce award winning wine and cider.

Visit the orchard for apple picking or to purchase some of their famous cider donuts!

WINDy hiLL FARM

This family farm has been in operation for over 35 years – a diverse horticultural operation consisting of a 7 acre apple orchard, 1 acre blueberry field, 8 acres of field-grown specialty ornamental nursery stock, a retail garden center, and a full service landscape department. Windy Hill grows over 25 varieties of apples, including several heirloom varieties.

Visit for pick-your-own blueberries and apples on the farm’s scenic hillside, and grab some fresh-pressed, all-natural unpasteurized sweet cider!

HANCOCK SHAKER VILLAGE

The living history museum brings the Shaker story to life and preserves it for future generations.

Hancock Shaker Village is also the oldest continuously working farm in the Berkshires.

Last Fall we picked more than 700 pounds of apples in the Village's historic orchard. Many of the heirloom varieties are now difficult to find in commercial orchards, including Yellow Newton, Esopus Spitzenberg, Hubbardston, and Rhode Island Greening.
